You can arrive on Crete by airplane or ferry.
By the sea all bigger cities of Crete (Heraklion, Rethymnon, Chania) are linked with the harbor of Piraeus.
There's a service operating from Heraklion to Thessaloniki as well as to some other Aegean islands.
The Cretan ferry service companies, who belong to the biggest one's in the Mediterranean Sea, are ANEK Lines, Hellenic Seaways and MINOAN Lines - – check out: www.ferries.gr.
Furthermore there are regular services to other islands.
You can go by boat from Heraklion to Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Syros and Skiathos. There's another link from Kastelli to Kythira and the Peloponnese. Also, from Agios Nikolaos and Sitia you can go by boat to the Dodecanese islands. Paleohora has a ferry service operating all the South West coast of Crete, as well as to Gavdos island.
Crete has two international airports (one in Chania and another in Heraklion), from where you can go to Greece continent and many places in Europe. There's another small airport in Sitia, being connected only with a few Greek airports.
During the summer months there are a lot of charter flights from many European countries and cities towards Crete.

From the airport or harbor you have many possibilities to organize your approach to Kamilari.
You can go by bus, rent your own car, motor-bike or just take a taxi.

If you plan a holiday in Kamilari but have less time or want to discover other beautiful places on the island, it's helpful to rent a car or motor-bike.
If you just want to relax, enjoy the beaches and calm atmosphere in the area and be a bit more sportive, you can also rent a bike in one of the neighbor villages Pitsidia or Sivas or find nice little paths around Kamilari to walk and use the public bus system or a taxi service.

There's a public bus service from Kamilari.
The road passes through the Messara valley, one of the most beautiful and fertile areas in Crete.
There are more frequent services to Mires, Timbaki and Matala, from where you can easily take a taxi to Kamilari.
